REMBAU (Bernama): The National Vaccination Plan scheduled to start in February will be finalised this Thursday (Jan 7), says Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Khairy Jamaluddin.
At the Covid-19 Vaccine Supply Access Guarantee Committee meeting to be jointly chaired by him and Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba, he said this would be discussed.
“Once we have acquired supplies of the Covid-19 vaccine, we intend to begin the implementation plan”. He told reporters after the Rembau Umno delegates’ meeting on Sunday (Jan 3).
He said this was a detailed strategy that would cover the time before receiving the vaccines. Also, it includes the clinics that enroll to provide access
to the vaccine, vaccine transport and storage.
In the meantime, in cooperation with several other departments, including the Ministry of Works and Housing and the Ministry of Local Government. He said his Ministry was also drafting a Low-Touch Economy Plan to avoid the public’s chance of having Covid-19.
He said that this long-term strategy, which would bring about improvements in the economic climate. Moreover, it would concentrate on creating and using robotics to eliminate the need to touch surfaces.
“In crowded areas, people no longer need to meet and near connections would be minimised”. Furthermore, he is adding that “these measures would help to reduce the number of cases involving Covid-19.”
