Malaysians more confident with e-commerce now

Currently, E-commerce provides a good platform for business income increasing compared to the traditional business in this pandemic situation.

Based on the popular e-commerce platform which is Shopee, Malaysians rely more on the e-commerce platform to make purchases on premium and branded items. Consequently, it causes 2020 been a dominant development for e-commerce.

Shopee, for example, can observe the demand increasing across all categories on its platform. There will be a record in the mid and upper segment showing the most notable change for retailers and brands.

Ian Ho, regional managing director of Shopee said the purchasing has increased for e-commerce this year and the company sees a parallel accelerating in the level of trust and comfort that people have with online shopping.

These extensions prove that there is a new demand for the e-commerce industry. The most convincing proof is that Samsung has broken records in 2020, recording up to RM46, 000 in a single transaction.

Swelling trust for bigger, branded purchases online

Shopee claimed that there is also growing confidence in purchasing premium and branded items priced RM3, 000 and above on its platform.

The company said the most famous keywords on Shopee are iPhone, laptop, washing machine and smart TV in recent months, while for the bestsellers consist of  Apple MacBook Pro, Bosch Built-in Dishwasher and Delonghi Coffee Machine.

The company said the online buyers are also getting more satisfying to the whole digital ecosystem. This can be shown when more buyers have changed from offline payment method to Shopee Pay, an online payment method.

To make it easy for retailers, Ho claimed that Shopee offers a combined e-commerce ecosystem. For instance, it has a strong logistics network, marketing tools, brands and retailers. They are managed to bring consumers a smooth and comfortable shopping experience.

He also mentioned that the shopee committee team will give their responsibility by giving full commitment to help the retailers to scale and accomplish in the online with its annual Shopee 10.10 Brands Festival.

The 10.10 sale

The Shopee 10.10 Brands Festival is starting from today until Oct 10.

The offerings include the free shipping with a minimum spend of RM10, exclusive RM10 deals, and 100 per cent authentic products via the Million Dollar Brands Discounts in-app portal.

Users will also be entitled to enjoy RM10 free shipping platform-wide and deal with big discounts of up to 70 per cent from 12 AM-2 AM. Lastly, users stand to win prizes, vouchers and Shopee Coins worth up to RM1, 000,000 when they play Shopee Games such as Shopee Farm, Shopee Claw, Shopee Poly and more.
