KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): During his previous visit to the Republic, Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein and his Indonesian counterpart, Retno Marsudi, reaffirmed the excellent relations between the two countries.
The Foreign Minister said the discussion took place during Retno’s luncheon to finalise arrangements for Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s meeting with Indonesian President Joko Widodo on Friday (Feb 5).
“They discussed how the two countries could continue working together to overcome the common challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic. Also, they encouraged further discussions between officials of both parties on issues of mutual concern”. It said on Thursday (Feb 4).
After that, Hishammuddin will be visiting Jakarta, Indonesia, from 4 to 5 February in accordance with the Prime Minister’s official visit.
Hishammuddin will accompany Muhyiddin on Friday for an official visit and related programmes to Istana Merdeka, Jakarta.
