Air Selangor: Eight areas are likely to face an unplanned water disturbance in Hulu Selangor due to flooding on Sunday (Jan 3).
Elina Baseri, head of corporate communications at Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd, said that it shut down the Sungai Selisik water treatment plant at around 5.40 pm on Sunday (Jan 3) after water rose to critical levels due to prolonged rainfall on Sunday.
“There are eight areas expected to face water shortage.
1.Kg Sungai Nilam/ Kg Seri Pagi
3.Rumah Murah PKT 2 Sungai Selisek
5.Kg Orang Asli
7.Kg Sekolah/ Kuarters Klinik
8.Kg Gesir Tengah
“An estimated time for the plant to resume operations cannot be ascertained. It is because the rainfall continues and water levels are still at critical levels,” she said Sunday night.
She said it must also ensure that all plant equipment is in good order and operational without posing any risk to employees, especially with electrical currents involved.
Air Selangor, via our website at www.airselangor.com, will release updates on the incident and recent developments from time to time.
“Users can also refer to all our official communication channels. It includes the Air Selangor application, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter or contact our Contact Centre at 15300,” she said.
