A staff member of the Mac City Service Center has tested positive for Covid-19. 1 Utama Shopping Centre has confirmed with it.
Then, the management of the shopping center said in a statement today that the outlet of the shopping center has immediately closed for disinfection.
“After investigation, the said staff has not stepped into our mall premise since clocking out from work on 30th September, with his off day on 1st October.”
They also stated that they have traced his entry point to the mall and the staff’s temperature was below 37.5 Celsius.
“He is now under the care of a government hospital. As of yet, we have not received any official notification from Health Authorities.”
The statement said, they immediately close the Mac City service center for disinfection in accordance with the Ministry of Health’s epidemic prevention code. All employees who has affected will also have to quarantine.
They also stated the mall has sanitised thoroughly. Its air handling units’ rooms, public areas, amenities. In addition, lifts, escalators, baby room, back of the house facilities and all other heavy touchpoints. By using hospital-grade sanitisers and environmentally friendly disinfectants.
Management stated that this case was the first isolated incident in a shopping mall.
